While studying communications at Ithaca College, Malama started to find his voice as a storyteller.

After producing and selling his documentary to Stateline, he traveled to Los Angeles where he spent a semester working for the feature film development team at Blumhouse Productions.

Since earning his degree, he has gone on to work in creative development and production at DreamWorks and Netflix.
